We had to go to the Embassy this morning. We were there for 3 full hours. It was a smallish room filled with chairs, which were in turn filled with parents trying to bring their babies home. Very crowded. Daniel did great, he thought he was the "official greeter" of the U.S. Embassy, Guatemala. He waved at everybody. Fortunately, he also slept part of the time (but only if Daddy held him!). We basically just had to show a couple people our passports, pay for Danny's visa, and answer a couple questions. No biggie, just very time-consuming.
We met another lady with our agency who is here with her mom. She is adopting a 9-month-old boy. She lives in Woodland Hills (about 15 minutes from us). She and her mom are very nice, and it made the time go by faster. We are planning to all go to Antigua one of these days while we're waiting for our visas.
Here are a few pictures from yesterday, including when Mary dropped him off. It's surreal to think that this time, we don't have to give him back! He is our son!
