Home, Sweet Home!

Finally - We are HOME with Daniel! We got home on Wednesday afternoon (2/20), but it's been such an exhausting whirlwind that this is the first chance I've had to post something on the blog. Daniel did very well on the flight. At the very beginning, he was crying and whiny and throwing everything on the floor, and I thought, "Oh, PLEASE don't be that baby that cries all the way home!" But as soon as we took off, he did fine, and actually slept most of the flight. His ears didn't seem to hurt at all. When we got off the plane, we took a picture of Eric touching Danny's feet to the ground - basically setting foot on American soil. It took about 1 1/2 hours to get through Immigration, Customs, and baggage claim, and get to our car. Then we zipped home pretty fast, and Daniel seemed to actually like his carseat (even though he'd never been in one).

Daniel seems to be doing quite well so far, although we know there is often a "honeymoon period" where things seem to be fine, and then adjustment issues pop up, so we'll try to be on the lookout. I admit, we've kind of caved when it comes to keeping people away for the first week or so. But, we've kept it to just a couple people at a time, short visits, and no one holds the baby except us (mostly because he cries if anyone else tries to hold him). He's been very cute and bubbly and charming, but I think it's taken a lot out of him. We're all pretty exhausted. Even though this is the culmination of a long process, and basically is our dream come true, it is a HUGE adjustment for both baby and parents!

Here are some pictures from the flight and our first few days at home.
